Biography of Angel OrozcoDo you remember that Cheech Marin movie "Born in East LA" ? In my case, it's the truth. USC Medical Center, Los Angeles, California to be exact (not sure what room). Ironically, I root for UCLA. Southern California is where I grew up. I love everything about So Cal, but I had to see more. This is the part where I graduate high school and go stay with my distant relative. Uncle Sam is his name, you know him, he's your Uncle too. On the bus to San Diego I went. Shortly after that bus ride, I took a plane ride, to Okinawa, Japan. In Okinawa, I was a Motor Vehicle Operator (I drove a truck). The funny thing is I went from learning to drive big trucks in the US to a country with narrow roads, not to mention Japan drives on the opposite side of the road as the US. The "Green Machine" must have thought I did an o.k job over there, because my next orders were to North Carolina as an Operator instructor. I taught entry level Marines the in’s and out’s of military vehicles, like Humvees and 5 tons. I learned so much during my 4 years in the Marines, it is a time in my life I hold close to my heart, but 4 years was long enough for me. Long, "wild" hair and a beard was my destiny! Wouldn't you know, I ended up back in the Golden State. Riverside (Los Angeles East) welcomed me in, and I haven't left yet. Working hard is something I've been doing since I was just a kid, it started with mowing lawns in the neighborhood, then delivering newspapers, and I have not stopped yet. You could say I am a man of many traits. One of the cooler job's I had was painting the inside of Disney Stores. I traveled quite a bit as a painter, from Hawaii to Colorado. Repairing Indusrial size radiators was an interesting job, I don't want to ever do again! I even do electrical, but I don't like to mention it, because everyone has something they want me to fix, j/k, I'd help you. I appreciate the jobs that I had in the past, but those are just jobs to me, they have partialy made me the person I am, and I am grateful for the experiences. I have another calling! I am pursuing a life long dream of mine. Growing up listening to radio legends like Huggy Boy, Art Laboe, Charlie Tuna and the late great Francis "Chick" Hearn was a treasured gift for me. Making people smile is the common trait of those great announcers. I also want to use my voice to make someone smile or laugh, even. This is what I want to do, it is what I am doing and I am happy doing it. Feel free to look around my website, more demos will be coming soon! |
